Nitron by Meteor – Nitron NTA

The Nitron by Meteor partnership has again be developed to introduce a dedicated Autograss damper.   Each damper has a dedicated valving setup for each class.  The broad adjustment range of the Nitron NTA damper however allows for a wide range of spring rates to be used by any customer making each installation as individual as required.

At Meteor we keep most spares on the shelf and subject to workload if necessary can repair the same day.

Our trusted customers also carry repair kits to events and they have been trained to be able to undertake some on event repairs.  Keeping you on track at an event.  Also available is a demo set and loan replacement set of dampers where a damper may have been damaged beyond repair.  Some of the design features we have used such as remote canister only rather than Piggy Back have been to lower repair costs if the worst should happen.

We can also arrang the collection of your dampers for return to us via DPD Local.  A set fee of £20.00 is charged for this but it means that your dampers are insured at full replacement cost.  Call to book this option.

The front dampers are unique in that the bodies are 40mm but use a 16mm shaft for increased strength.  The rear dampers are 46mm and 16mm shaft.  From the outside the units will look the same but internally they have been re-engineered.  The reason behind the noticeable difference from the standard Nitron to the Meteor version is due to the internal valving and those increased shaft sizes.  Allowing us to control the fluid flow more efficiently,  making a noticeable difference to the handling performance and ride quality.  With true 3 way adjustment and complete separation between the adjustment means that no longer will adjusting the rebound affect the forces seen on the compression side of the curve.   We have seen many dampers where adjusting one setting affects another significantly but without a dyno you would not know it.

This kit is designed for serious race use and as such incorporates high and low speed bump control valves for further chassis fine-tuning.  By adjusting either bump or rebound damping the damping ratio can be adjusted.  For example the high speed damping can be kept soft so the car is not thrown by large holes whilst not compromising body control in the transient cornering phase (turn in, applying power). This low speed control is more concerned with grip off the line and weight transition on corner entry.  The NTA remote reservoir kit provides simple fitting as included as standard are our swivel banjo fittings to both damper and canister.  No restrictions to the angle required for installation in the car.  Other benefits of remote reservoirs are higher fade resistance due to a higher oil volume, plus a larger surface area to radiate the heat to the atmosphere.
Custom spring and valving requirements can be specified.

We can also help with a recommended set up starting point.

Kit includes 2 front dampers and 2 rear dampers with spacers and canister mounting rubbers.
